Tu Chân Giới — design and prototype docs

These pages explain the game design, the prototype and the open decisions. Each page starts with a short summary. The details come after it.

Tu Chân Giới (修真界, "the cultivation world") is a text-based MMO for the web, in Vietnamese. Players react to shared events, and the server turns all their choices into lasting changes in one world. Status: pre-alpha prototype. A written spec and a command-line proof of concept exist. There is no playable game yet.

The one selling point

Player actions change the shared, persistent world. Persistent means the change stays and every player sees it. For example, 600 players defend Lạc Hà Trấn (a town) and 80 join the raiders. Then the town's danger level, its market prices, the surviving NPCs and next week's events change for everyone.

The spec authors found no live MMO in which an LLM (large language model, an AI text writer) resolves all players' choices into persistent shared-world change. The Prior art page lists the closest projects.

What exists today

Spec draft v0.1README.md. Product and technical design. Appendix A holds the operator's lore, word for word.
Prototype 27 tests passpoc/. Node scripts, no web UI. It proves a world event, a raid dungeon, combat and skill checks.
Decision records pending approvalDesign debate rounds 3–4, a prior-art study and a 4-round combat council. They produced the combat spec C1–C9.

Key terms

The pages explain each term at its first use. This list collects the most common ones.

Engine
The server code that owns all numbers and rolls all dice.
Prototype (PoC)
The command-line proof of concept in poc/. It has no web UI.
Event kind
World, daily or personal. The kind sets who takes part and how long the choice window stays open.
Seed
An event template: options, rules and allowed effects.
Tick
The moment a choice window closes and the engine resolves the event.
p
The success chance that the engine computes from all choices. It is always between 0.05 and 0.95.
Roll
One seeded random number from 0 to 1. The same seed always gives the same roll. The engine compares the roll with p.
Tier
One of five outcomes of an event: đại thắng (decisive win), thắng (win), giằng co (stalemate), bại (loss), thảm bại (disaster).
Receipt
The engine's saved record of one result: the scores, p, the roll, the tier and every change.
Narrator (DM)
The LLM that writes the story. It never decides numbers. The prototype code calls it the DM (dungeon master).
Cảnh giới, cấp
Realm (a level of cultivation) and its number. Each realm has sub-stages (tiểu cảnh giới).
LT9, NN1
Short names for a realm and a sub-stage. LT9 = Luyện Thể sub-stage 9. NN1 = Ngưng Nguyên sub-stage 1, one step higher.
R
The realm bonus. Combat and checks add it to the d20 roll. It grows with cấp and sub-stage.
Linh lực
Spirit energy. In combat it pays for bí pháp (secret arts).
Bí cảnh
A secret realm: a raid dungeon that runs as one world event over several ticks.
Tu sĩ, tông môn
Cultivator (the player's kind) and sect (a player faction).

All pages

Core loop

An event opens, players choose, a tick resolves all choices, and the engine saves the result.

Lore

Two universes, three civilisations and the realm ladder. v0.1 is planned for cấp 1–2 on one continent.

Events

World, daily and personal events. How choices become a success chance p and an outcome tier.

Bí cảnh

A three-floor raid dungeon that runs as one world event, with attrition and loot.

Combat

One d20 rule for fights and checks. The prototype rules and the proposed spec C1–C9.

LLM narrator

The LLM writes the story but never decides numbers. Templates take over on failure.

Prior art

Four open projects close to this idea, and the patterns we take from them.

Decisions

Five confirmed decisions and 21 open ones, with recommended defaults.

Roadmap

The next steps up to the public v0.1, and how to run the prototype.
